Geneva Stolze
Co-founder
Geneva began her journey as an international humanitarian at a young age, building houses in Mexico, organizing sports leagues for the deaf in Argentina, teaching Spanish at an international humanitarian aviation organization, Wings of Hope, and translating with the same organization in the Ecuadorian Amazon. She routinely volunteered with orphanages, medical clinics, and a crisis pregnancy center in Kenya. After graduating from Duke University, she moved to Spain and began teaching at the American School of Madrid. Her passion for helping others and her hobby of photography evolved into working with the World Health Organization’s vaccination initiatives throughout Asia and the Pacific. She moved to Geneva Switzerland, where she published photography for the International Committee of the Red Cross, Mines Victims Unit, of her work in Cambodia, and later held multiple exhibitions in Mexico City.
She returned to the United States in 2008 to complete the post baccalaureate program in pre-medicine at Washington University in St. Louis, where she began collecting unused laboratory gloves from students, and later coordinating university wide collections. Through her partnership with the clinics in Kenya, as well as with Wings of Hope, she connected the surplus of gloves, which would otherwise be trashed, with a great need. Her goal was to protect healthcare workers and patients alike by eliminating hand to hand contraction of diseases, using free channels of distribution of gloves that would otherwise go to waste. Pairing surplus with need to prevent disease was the founding principle of Gloves Go Global, which would later evolve into Health Goes Global to encompass various other preventative health initiatives.
