Clean Water - Guyana
Chlorination is a common water purification technique used in both industrialized and developing countries. Many communities that lack clean water use bleach in appropriate doses to purify and clean their water for drinking. The use of this device eliminates costly supply chains of bleach and rids beautiful waterways and lush landscapes of floating and strewn beach bottles.
Salt is not only affordable, but it is readily available in nearly all communities. This device can be powered by a car or motorcycle battery or an outlet if one is available. These qualities make this device the ultimate piece of water technology for low-resource communities.
Health Goes Global has partnered with Mountain Safety Research Global Health to work toward our goal of clean water for all! With their support, we have been able to provide communities with the ability to purify contaminated water, making it safe for drinking. We are able to do this with new technology called the SE200 Community Chlorine Maker. This device allows one to create 0.8% chlorine solution used to kill disease causing microbes. Salt, water and electricity is all that is needed. Just 5 minutes of running the device creates enough chlorine solution to purify 200 liters of water!
Salt + Battery = Clean Water
As of 2020, our Clean Water projects are in Mabaruma, Guyana and in Palwan, Philippines. Our goal is to continue sustainably expanding our outreach to increase access to clean water.
